Our secret recipe? We only hire the best of all the Finnish teachers with many years of experience in both teaching in fun ways and organising summer programs. We are all one big family and super-excited to get you as a new part of it!

Teacher

MIKKO HÖMMÖ

CEO, Camp Director

Master’s degree, education / University of Helsinki

Hi there! Meet Mikko, an elementary school principal from Espoo. I'm specialized in music education. I’ve been organizing and directing summer camps for more than a decade all over the world. I once counted that I’ve spent almost two years of my life on summer camps so you can guess that I really like them. I’m so into music that it’s almost ridiculous. I’ll be bringing some pretty cool music projects with me! Besides that I love golfing, snowboarding and all things with a twist of action!

My favorite summer camp activities are the things that all of us do together. Nothing beats a really funny evening activity with 50 people all laughing in tears. The best thing about summer in Finland is the sun that just won’t go down. You have to see it for yourself! A finnish word I would like to teach you is “miksei” that stands for “Why not?” As a teacher, my goal is to enable possibilities and let creativity bloom as long as it’s done safely!
